Adieu, créature(Farewell, creature)

Adieu, créature
Farewell, creature
J'm'en vais dans la nature
I'm in the wild

Et ne m'en veuille pas*
And don't blame me
Tu ne seras jamais pour moi*
You'll always be for me
Qu'une jolie créature*
Nothing but a beautiful creature
Perdue dans la nature
Lost in the wild
Aimant un peu, beaucoup
Loving a bit much
Trop, pas assez ou pas du tout
Too much, too little or not at all

Je suis là pour je n'sais qui pour je n'sais quoi
I'm here for I don't know who, for something
Tu m'as pris pour je n'sais quoi pour je n'sais qui
You took me for I know not what, I don't know who
Et moi je n'sais ce qui m'a pris ce qui m'a pris
And me, I don't know what came over me, what came over me

Adieu, créature
Farewell, creature
J'm'en vais dans la nature
I'm in the wild
Et ne m'en veuille pas*
And don't blame me
Une de ces nuits on s'reverra
One of these nights we'll meet again

Adieu, créature
Farewell, creature

Adieu, créature
Farewell, creature
On se reverra
We'll meet again
Quelque part dans la nature
Somewhere in the wild

*Thanks for the help, Débordante

  1. The video you embedded is not available any more. But you can find the scopitone for this song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TKumFzy-Cg

    * "Ne m'en veuille pas": subjonctive form of "ne pas en vouloir (à quelqu'un)", which means "not to blame (someone)" --> "Do not blame me"

    * "Tu ne seras jamais pour moi / Qu'une jolie créature" --> "You will always be for me / Nothing but a lovely creature"
(one day, we'll talk about the subtleties of the adverb "jamais")

  2. Thanks, I swapped out the video. A lot of these have been disappearing, unfortunately.

  3. farewell creature
    i'm going in the countryside
and please do not blame me
you will always be for me (in french it means also "you'll never be mine")
    nothing but a lovely creature
lost in the middle of nowhere
    loving a little bit, much
too much, not enough or not at all
I am there for i don't know who, for something
you took me for I know not what, I don't know who
And I, I don't know what came over me, I don't know why
    I came here.
    farewell creature
    farewell creature
    we'll meet again
    somewhere in the country side
